We briefly review the observational situation regarding cyclotron
resonance features in the spectra of pulsating sources and then turn our
attention to problems arising in the context of gamma-ray burst spectra.
Finally we discuss some recent work done on the radiative transfer
inhomogenous plasmas under superstrong magnetic field conditions.
