The OH emission source in the direction of the H II region W48 has been observed in the 1612- and 1720-MHz satellite lines with the Nancay radio telescope. The source is located close to the intense maser emitting in the principal OH lines (1665, 1667 MHz), but does not coincide with it in space. Extended regions of OH emission and absorption in the satellite lines have been detected.
