The authors have calculated the spin evolution of classical T Tauri stars (CTTS) with various initial rotational velocities. The results show that if the surface magnetic field strength of CTTS is in excess of ≡100 G, the braking magnetic torque exerted on CTTS can lead to an equilibrium state with relatively slow rotation, which is consistent with observations.
