Scientific paper
ISO studies of normal galaxies in the local Universe have revealed new
basic properties with significant implications for the star formation
process and cosmology. This paper will review the general results of a
statistical nature, provide a glimpse of the profusion of results on
individual objects, and explore some of the resulting insights.
