Gravitational collapse of a non-spherical gas could is investigated taking into account the effects of gas pressure and rotation, but not the effect of magnetic field. It is assumed that the cloud is axisymmetric with spheroidal equi-density surfaces and contracts isothermally. It is found that a rotating cloud finally attains a disk-like shape after several bouncing motions due to the centrifugal and pressure forces regardless of the initial conditions. We have also worked out some cases without gas pressure, in order to see the characteristics of the nonspherical gas dynamics. Applications of our results are made of the astrophysical problems such as the rotation curve of galaxies and the formation of stars.
