Expressions are given for the perturbations arising in the motion of close earth satelites if the orbital system introduced by Veis is used. These expressions include all terms with amplitudes greater than 10-8 for both long and short periods. Resonance problems can also occur under certain circumstances. Similar first order expressions obtained previously by Kozai are found to contain some errors.
