The Sandage, Freeman and Stokes (SFS) sample of galaxies was analyzed for their distribution of intrinsic ratios q = b/a of minor to major axis by Lucy's iterative method. The SFS distribution for ellipticals is verified if the intrinsic forms are oblate. If, instead, prolate spheroids are assumed, the peak in the distribution moves from q = 0.55 to q = 0.7 and is flatter. The SFS Gaussian for lenticulars is also verified if no correction is made for selection against edge-on galaxies owing to internal absorption. The spirals in Thompson's sample of galaxies in rich clusters agree in intrinsic distribution with the SFS spirals.
