We study some of the physical and mathematical properties of conformally Robertson-Walker spacetimes. The spacetimes are everywhere conformal to the cosmological RW metric and asymptotically RW. The conformal factor introduces a radial deformation of the otherwise homogeneous and isotropic spacetime of the cosmological background. We study the conformal symmetries of the metric and investigate the physical effects the conformal factor has on the nature of the spacetime.
