Analyses by the neutron activation method reveal about 0.002 p.p.m. Au in two basalts from the British Tertiary igneous province and in one Recent Hawaiian flow. From 0.001 to 0.01 p.p.m. Au has been found in dunites and olivine-rich nodules included in basalts, the majority of results being appreciably higher than for the basalts analysed. Four chondritic meteorites carry from 0.1 to 0.3 p.p.m. Au, which appears most probably to be concentrated in the dispersed metallic phase.
