Scientific paper

Laboratory modeling of planetary magnetic fields and their possible effects on cosmic-ray fluxes is discussed. Models of planetary magnetospheres in which the magnetic axis is perpendicular to the ecliptic are examined, and special attention is given to the magnetosphere of Uranus. The cases of comets and Venus are also considered. It is suggested that cosmic-ray particle penetration to the poles of Uranus should be strongly asymmetric.
