2149 Mhd Waves And Turbulence
Scientific paper
MHD turbulence is ubiquitous in space. In particular, those found in the foreshock region of the earth's bowshock typically have normalized magnetic field amplitude equal or even greater than unity, and are thus regarded as excellent examples for nonlinear wave research. With an emphasis on elucidating nonlinear processes contained in the data, we present our recent progress in analyzing the foreshock magnetic field data obtained by GEOTAIL spacecraft from some new perspectives. In particular, we discuss presence, evolution, and origin of phase coherence among MHD waves. Details of the method of the analyses and the results will be presented at the meeting.
