We use the Expanding Box Model, which has been updated to include the effects of the mirror force, to carry out 1D simulations of wave-particle interactions in the fast solar wind in the presence of particle beams. The aim is to understand the effects of beams on wave dissipation as well as the role of turbulence in the regulation and possible generation of the proton beam in the fast solar wind.
