XMM-Newton observations of the ``double'' clusters A98 and A1750 will address three goals: 1) detect early merger signatures in the subclusters and determine the cluster dynamics using X-ray data and galaxy spectroscopy, 2)search for intercluster gas (WHIM) between subclusters, and 3) for A98, study the interaction of the double-lobed radio source 4C+20.04 with the ICM and determine the AGN power responsible for this outburst. We propose two pointings for A98 and one for A1750, which combined with the existing observations will image all large subclusters in each system, as well as the intervening regions between subclusters.
