The equations for a general quantum-mechanical theory for the perturbation shift and broadening of spectral lines in the non-impact regime have been numerically solved for a pseudo-potential of the Na/Ar system in the 3s S state. Spectral line shapes have been shown for low and high pressures (P). The variation with P of the linewidths for the non-impact regime and for the impact approximation is depicted in the range P=0.5-20 torr.
