Solar Cosmic Rays: Energy Spectra
Scientific paper
A set of experimental data on the energy spectra of peak (maximum) flux and fluence values in solar cosmic ray (SCR) events is analysed. It is shown that the proton energy spectra, averaged over events with identical fluences can be described by power law functions of the particle rigidity. The phenomenon of monotonic increase in the averaged spectral index with increase of SCR fluence is described. A classification of SCR events by fluence magnitude is suggested.
