Neutrino energy loss rates of neutron stars in the pion-condensed phase are calculated. The studied processes are the decay of thermally excited pions and the nucleon URCA process. The nucleon URCA process makes a major contribution to the cooling rate. The expected neutrino luminosity is about 7.6 × 1044 ergs/sec (T/109K)6 for 1M&sun; neutron stars. This luminosity is 107 times as high as the standard value.
