During the period of April 1975 to March 1976 geomagnetic quiet data were obtained via a high-resolution Fabry-Perot spectrometer. These data were used to evaluate yearly variations of the nighttime neutral gas temperature, zonal winds, and meridional winds at F-layer heights. The obtained values are compared to those of the mass spectrometer and incoherent scatter empirical model of thermospheric neutral temperature and composition. The observed winds are also compared to zonal and meridional winds calculated by a three-dimensional semiempirical dynamic model of the thermosphere. Both calculated and observed winds exhibit a systematic monthly variation during geomagnetic quiet times. Predicted diurnal variations of wind and temperature are used to calculate diurnal averages of zonal and meridional wind components.
