Dirac's (1937, 1938) multiplicative and additive creation models and Hoyle and Narlikar's (1972) variable-G cosmology each predict different relationships for the atomic time variations of the semimajor axis and mean motion of an orbiting body. This will provide a test between them when sufficiently precise results are available both for the acceleration of the moon's mean longitude and for planetary or lunar ranging. The present Van Flandern (1975) results for the former will, unless disproved, preclude Dirac's additive creation.
