The paper sets forth the results of 11 radio occultation measurements through the day and night atmosphere of Venus performed by Venera 9 and 10 spacecraft as they emerged from and disappeared behind the limb of the planet. Data on the amplitude and frequency of the probe beam and ballistic data were processed to obtain profiles of molecule concentration, pressure, temperature, and electron concentration. On the night side, in the height range 40-85 km the pressure varied from 0.001 to 3.5 atm while temperature changed from 170-440 K. Small temperature inversions occurred at 47, 56, and 63 km. Stable layer formations were detected in the height range 46-66 km. On the day side, layer formations detected were not stable. The ionosphere was recorded at 100-350 km. Locations of electron concentration maxima for various solar zenith angles were also determined.
