Line profiles were obtained for the 1(11)-1(10) transitions of H2(C-12)O and H2(C-13)O (4.83 and 4.59 GHz, respectively) toward 11 galactic continuum sources containing molecular clouds. Hyperfine structure of H2(C-13)O in interstellar space was detected for the first time. The data were used to determine apparent (C-12/C-13) isotopic ratios. The sources studied are contained within one quadrant of the galactic plane, and the mean value for the (C-12/C-13) isotopic ratio is 46 with a standard deviation of 18. A spatial gradient of the isotopic ratio of less than 30% for galactocentric distances from 4 to 12 kpc is found, but because of possible systematic effects and uncertainties in the individual ratios, this spatial gradient may not be significant.
