RADIO observations of Saturn, have been reported previously1,2 at wave-lengths of the order of 3 cm. Observations at longer wave-lengths, combined with these earlier observations, would define the microwave spectrum of the planet, thus making it possible to determine whether Saturn also exhibits the striking microwave phenomena presented by Jupiter, evidently as a result of a vast system of radiation belts3,4.
