The proton loss function in molecular oxygen is studied theoretically
using the total and differential ionization and stripping cross-sections
from the work by Singh and Dwivedi (1980). The elastic energy loss is
estimated by using the theory of Lindhard et al. (1980). Results are in
good agreement with experiment at all energies.
