Examination of 2 yr data shows that Pc 3-4 bursts may occur simultaneously with Pi2 in the night hemisphere and may be associated with fluctuations in the interplanetary magnetic field. It is useful to regard the Pc bursts as analogs of Psc or impulse-associated pulsations. Thus, Pc packets on the dayside and simultaneous Pi2 in the night sector may have a common trigger in broadband hydromagnetic impulses such as may be associated with shock structures in the solar wind plasma.
