Data from GEOS measurements of Pc 1-2 pulsations and ground-based magnetometers were used to study the generation and propagation of ion cyclotron waves in the magnetosphere. It is established that the presence of heavy ions and the anisotropy of energetic protons are essential. Satellite-ground conjugate observations reveal the condition for the propagation of ion cyclotron waves from the generation region in the magnetosphere to the ground. The discoveries of helium ion heating and generation of field-aligned electron beams and ELF electrostatic waves by Pc 1-2 waves help to explain wave-particle interaction in magnetospheric plasma. Satellite observations were conducted mainly at geostationary orbit, so periodic Pc 1 pulsations, commonly observed on the ground, were rarely observed in the magnetosphere. Types of Pc 1 pulsations with dot structures in f-t spectra were observed at auroral-zone and sub-cleft stations during the magnetic local morning hours.
