ANYONE who has followed the revelation of new knowledge on Pithecanthropus and Pekin man by Weidenreich and von Koenigswald in the columns of NATURE and elsewhere during recent months cannot but agree with the opinions expressed by Prof. Le Gros Clark1. If the usual rules of nomenclature are to be followed, the generic name Sinanthropus must now be regarded as a synonym of Pithecanthropus.
