Various aspects of the dynamo theory of Sq(0) variations are examined.
It is shown that absence of variations of total current in an Sq(0) cell
with variations of the orientation of the Bz component of the IMF from
north to south is not conclusive proof of a nonmagnetospheric dynamo
origin of Sq(0). A physical explanation is offered for this conclusion.
