A spiral structure has been observed in a magnetized cylindrical plasma, and identified as a density modulation pattern excited in a rotating plasma. Low frequency electrostatic perturbation is described using the two fluids approximation. The solution is obtained numerically, showing a good agreement with the experimental observation. A universal mechanism of spiral pattern formation is proposed.
