Low frequency, electromagnetic instabilities driven by an ion temperature anisotropy play important role in space plasmas. The instability properties has been extensively studied: the linear properties has been investigated using numerical solvers of the dispersion relation and the nonlinear evolution has been studied using hybrid codes. We will present first results of a newly developed one-dimensional hybrid-Vlasov code for various instabilities driven by a proton anisotropy. We will compare results of the hybrid-Vlasov code with the predictions of linear theory and with results of the classical hybrid code. We will discuss the simulation results and compare properties of the hybrid and hybrid-Vlasov codes.
