The interaction of an interplanetary shock with the terrestrial magnetic field produces geomagnetic sudden storm commencements. Rapid variations observed in terrestrial magnetographs recorded from 1975 to 1986 are collected. They are to be used in a preliminary evaluation of the sudden storm commencement event which occurred during solar cycle N.21. The data is useful for studies connected to solar-terrestrial physics in the absence of solar wind measurements.
