Transverse waves below 125 mHz are often observed in the dayside sector of the magnetosphere by the Electron Drift Instrument (EDI) and the Fluxgate Magnetometer (FGM) on Cluster. We examine data acquired between February and April, 2001, by using the fast Fourier transform and the Tchebycheff filter techniques. The events are observed at radial distances >6 RE at both morning and afternoon local times. The locations are often close to the magnetopause and on field lines threading the polar cap. In order to investigate the mode of the waves, we compare the E/B ratio with the local Alfvén speed. Poynting flux is also calculated. Since we have data from multiple spacecraft, we can estimate power incident over an area of approximately 3ṡ 104 km2/s. Any possible regulation of this wave activity by interplanetary parameters is investigated.
