We present four space craft Cluster data of two crossing of the high altitude cusp during periods of Northward IMF. In both cases, the solar wind speed was approximately 320 kms. In the first case, the cusp (Mar 17, 2001) the satellites enter into the cusp at approximately 5.20 UT and remains there for approximately 1 hour. The region is characterized by a high density, low temperature stagnant plasma with a composition similar to the magnetosheath and a possibly turbulent magnetic field . In the second event (Mar 22, 2001) the four satellites briefly enter the cusp just after midnight. Here, again we observe a stagnant plasma with magnetosheath-like properties and possibly turbulent variations in the magnetic field. In both events, after passing through the cusp, the space crafts enter a region where the plasma properties gradually change from cusp-like parameters to magnetospheric like parameters. Following this the satellites briefly enter the day side magnetosphere. Even though the magnetosphere is very quiet (Kp < 1) in both events, we see ample evidence of very dynamics structures.
