Current and proposed launch vehicle capabilities in the U.S., Europe,
and China are discussed. Consideration is given to the U.S.'s Delta,
Atlas-Centaur, and Titan vehicles, the USSR's Proton and Energia, the
European Ariane, and China's Long March. The development costs and
benefits of the Shuttle C and Advanced Launch System are examined.
