We propose a study of the bright supernova remnant Puppis A using ACIS-S, with five pointings covering a representative sample of features, including a portion of the shock front in the east, two shocked interstellar clouds in different environments, and a knot and filament in the interior of the remnant. These data will allow us to measure spectral due to the ionization structure behind the shock front under a variety of densities and geometries. Chandra is the first and only instrument that provides angular resolution necessary to track such changes on arcsecond scales.
