A simple model of chaotic inflation is considered, involving a scalar field Φ with quantum mass, mX, associated to the superheavy Higgs X-bosons, responsible for the unification of the strong and electroweak interactions. Assuming the X's decay (occurring out of equilibrium) to be responsible for the generation of the baryon asymmetry, an estimate for the value of mX is obtained.
