The structure of Karman vortex street flows in the solar wind near the heliomagnetic equator is investigated. This structure is shown to comprise a chain of 'cyclones' or 'anticyclones' propagating in the solar-wind stream. These phenomena are described on the basis of the linearized equations of motion of a polytropic gas on the background of an axisymmetric supersonic expansion with a velocity minimum in the equatorial plane.
