It is shown that a charged solution of a nonsymmetric unified field theory of gravitation and electromagnetism implies that, with certain values of the parameters of the metric, the black hole stops evaporating and settles down to a stable configuration. The analysis suggests that 'damping' effects on particle creation could occur at distances of the order of 10 to the -10th power cm as a consequence of the vacuum polarization spread of the electric charge. The possibility of stable black holes with mass of approximately 10 to the 18th power g is indicated.
