During periods of enhanced solar activity, the resulting interplanetary disturbances may interact, complicating predictions of the effects of these disturbances at Earth. We will briefly review the well established interactions expected on the basis of time dependent numerical MHD simulations, and then present results of numerical modeling of such interactions. The results show the evolution of the interplanetary disturbances within 1AU and give the verification of real-time predictions of the interplanetary shocks at 1 AU that result from intervals of high solar activity. We demonstrates the importance of considering interactions when making predictions for events occurring closely spaced in time, and give a method for estimating these interactions with models such as STOA and ISPM. We will also show the associations with geomagnetic storms as measured in Kp.
