A radiochemical study of the spallation products of praesydium and tantalum nuclei bombarded by protons with energy greater than 660 MeV is performed. The main characteristics of the cross-section distribution for formation of nuclei and products in the rare-earth element region are established. The range of validity of the Rudstam equation is determined for deep spallation, and a new value for the parameter n and a new dependence of the parameter P on A(target) in this equation are found. Equations for calculating cross sections where the Rudstam equation is not valid are obtained.
