Scientific paper

The paper discusses the periods and amplitudes of the periodic perturbations of earth's orbital elements due to the gravitational action of Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and the moon, and notes expressions for both secular and periodic perturbations of four of the elements. It is found that the secular perturbations in amplitude and period exceed the periodic perturbations by two to four orders of magnitude. It is thus unlikely that the corresponding insolation changes influence earth insolation.
