We present results from combined all sky camera gravity wave and FPI/CLIO neutral wind observations at the Early Polar Cap Observation in Resolute, Canada (74.9oN). The data show that the mesopause region gravity waves observed at Resolute are highly influenced by the neutral wind. The propagation direction of gravity waves is almost always opposite to the neutral wind, because the neutral wind filters out gravity waves propagating in the same direction. So only these gravity waves traveling against the wind are likely reach the mesopause. The neutral wind is dominated by the 12-hour oscillation, which might be caused by the semi-diurnal tide. The implication of this interaction between the semi-diurnal tide and gravity waves at high latitudes will be discussed.
