Resonant change in the period of revolution of Molniia-1 type communications satellites is studied with comparison of the simplest model and models with higher orders of the earth's gravitational potential (up to n=10). Numerical integration of the quasisecular equations takes into account the effect of lunar and solar perturbations on the evolution of the satellite's period. Quantitative estimates of the effect of higher orders of the earth's gravitational potential on changes in satellite coordinates after 30 days in orbit are also discussed. Higher-order tesseral harmonics introduce substantial changes into the satellite coordinates when taken into account.
