Black-Hole Spacetime, Ordinary Geometry, Optical Reference Geometry, Embedding Diagram
Scientific paper
Embedding diagrams of both ordinary geometry and optical reference geometry of static spherically symmetric and stationary axially symmetric black-hole spacetimes are presented as a useful concept for intuitive understanding of these spacetimes' nature. Optical reference geometry and related inertial forces and their relationship to the embedding diagrams are discussed. Typical embedding diagrams are constructed for Schwarzschild-(anti-)de Sitter, Reissner-(anti-)de Sitter, Ernst and Kerr-Newman spacetimes.
