We study deep inelastic scattering from deuteron and A > 2 nuclei with careful consideration of effects due to two-nucleon short-range correlations (2N SRCs). Our main goals are to obtain the theoretical interpretation of the recent experimental observation of strong correlation between the slope of the EMC ratio and the strength of the 2N SRCs. Our studies demonstrate that nuclear modification effects tend to maximize in high Bjorken x (x > 0.5) region indicating on sensitivity of the EMC effect to the local rather than average nuclear densities. We present also the comparison of our calculations with the existing SLAC and recent Jefferson Lab experimental data. In these comparisons we analyze carefully the Q2 dependence of EMC ratios and relate them to the possible nuclear modification of the evolution equation of partons in the bound nucleon.
