Neutral Current (NC) induced pions constitute a dominant portion of the background in the NuE and NuEbar appearance measurements of the Long Baseline Experiment. We evaluated the NC background of a 200 kT Water Cerenkov (WC) detector that has been proposed as the far-detector (FD) for Long Baseline Events with 1-, 2-, and 3-rings events identified. Events with 4 or more rings are excluded in our treatment. The energy and angle of our selected events are smeared using the Super Kamiokande's parametric resolution functions. Simple kinematic cuts were imposed to reduce the NC background while keeping the signal efficiency high. We present a set of kinematic distributions that distinguish the NC from NuECC leading to our estimate of the NC efficiency as a function of visible energy.
