Scientific paper

A combined-magnetosphere model is developed with reference to Mars and
Venus. The configuration of the combined field involves the simultaneous
presence of induced and dipole fields when the planetary magnetic field
is perpendicular to the solar wind magnetic field. The range of magnetic
moments for which a combined magnetosphere may be formed is defined.
