The vector magnetic field measurements acquired with the Triad spacecraft are used to investigate the orientation of magnetic field disturbances in a dayside high-latitude region. It is noted that if the 'infinite current sheet' approximation is adopted to relate these transverse disturbances to field-aligned Birkeland currents, the orientation of the disturbance is the same as that of the current sheet.
