A cosmological model is investigated, taking into account a homogeneous space Bianchi type-I. It is found that the Robertson-Walker model for the curvature constant K=0 as discussed by Endo and Fukui (1977) is only a special case of the solutions obtained for the Bianchi type-I model. The fundamental properties of the model do not change drastically with the introduction of the anisotropy. The field equations for the modified Brans-Dicke theory are considered, and dust solutions for Bianchi type-I are discussed. It is pointed out that the general behavior of an anisotropic homogeneous model is analogous to that of the zero curvature Robertson-Walker model given by Endo and Fukui.
