Consideration is given to the Mariner 10 flybys of Mercury, the Mercury Polar Orbiter proposal, and the analyses of comets. The goals of the proposed NASA Mars Observer and the Soviet Phobos and Vesta spacecraft designed for the study of Mars are described.
