On March 11/12, 1986, CCD photometry from the prime focus of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope on Mauna Kea revealed the existence of globular cluster systems around both of the supergiant elliptical galaxies at the center of the Coma Cluster, NGC 4874 and NGC 4889. The luminosity functions (LF) plotted against B revealed no significant numbers of excess images for B less than 24.0; the LFs of the population matched the shape of the Virgo/M87 globular cluster LF for an assumed distance ratio d(Coma)/d(Virgo) of 5.5. The specific frequency (number of globular clusters per unit galaxy luminosity) was almost 3 times higher in NGC 4874 than in NGC 4889. In both size and radial structure, the system in NGC 4874 was similar to the M87 system, while NGC 4889 more nearly resembled the majority of large ellipticals.
