Recent observations of the Local Interstellar Medium (LISM) from radio to soft X-ray wavelengths with unprecedented sensitivity and high spectral or spatial resolution have provided information that challenges current interpretation and modeling of the local void, the so-called Local Bubble (LB). Specifically, it is difficult to reconcile the spectra of the plasma in the EUV and soft X-rays with the predictions of plasma emission models based on collisional ionization equilibrium (CIE). It is shown that fast adiabatic expansion of an initially hot plasma in non-CIE can reproduce the available data better.
